Hello everyone. There has been a controversy regarding one of my recent instastory and after reviewing the video once again, i found that it may have been insensitive of me to say what I said. It was never my intention to upset all of you. I am extremely apologetic toward all of the K-Pop fans, ShiNee fans (Shawols) and also to my fans. I realised that there are many K-Pop fans amongst my fans and I hope everyone can understand that I never intended to make fun of the late Jonghyun.
I think we are now aware of the fact that celebrities and idols plays an important role in our lives. Young or old - we've always had someone that we look up to at some point of our lives. It is also the same for me. These celebrities are people whose voice and message have affected others and change their lives for the better. The fact that people are outraged goes to show that Jonghyun are loved and respected to the highest degree.
While I was mulling over my actions, I have found that mental illness is a topic that is still not spoken more of - especially in Malaysia. The stigma on mental illness is real and I would like to use this platform of mine to say that it is nothing to be ashamed of. Whether an illness affects you heart, your mind or your body, it's still an illness that should be treated with equal respect and compassion. The reality of our generation is that we have a lot of things to deal with and it gets overbearing at times. To those who are suffering,please please please reach out and seek help if you feel helpless. There are many people who are willing to help and they care about you. You are important. And to those who have stigmatized mental illness in the past, please know that pain doesn't discriminate. Just because a person seem to have everything doesn't mean that their mind cannot be filled with dark thoughts. Please don't ignore the people around you who have cried for help. Be compassionate. Be kind.
Lastly, I want to thank the people who have educated me on my wrongdoings and action. It is undeniable that as a celebrity, my comments and behaviour could greatly influence people and society. I feel greatly responsible for causing concern and distress to many and I promise to be more careful of my actions. In the future, please continue to watch over my development and point out parts where I lack. Let us grow together and towards being better members of the society.
